जो ज़ख्म देता है, वह हादसे को भूल जाता है,  

पर जिसे ज़ख्म लगा है, वह भूल नहीं पाता है…

वह दर्द को भूल भी जाए, तो सहलाने हैं लगते,

ज़ख्म को हाथ, जब उठने लगती है टीस उसमें…

The one who causes hurt forgets the deed,  

But the wounded one still feels the bleed…  

Though he may wish to forget the pain,  

His hands find the scar when it aches again…
