Sometimes dysfunction has a way of clamoring against all logic in your mind, and oftentimes, such dysfunction interferes with what we think should be common sense principles. I shared this post four years ago and still find it necessary to re-sing this poem today amid the frenzy of life.
Putting Crazy on Mute
Today, I am hitting the mute button
crazy will not distract, consume or overpower me
not today, not tomorrow and the next day ain’t lookin’ too good either.
Today, I am hitting the mute button
on ludicrous thinking, conversations, and behaviors
stuff that baffles the existentialism of human intellect.
Today, I am hitting the mute button
blotting out nonsense from the addiction to wayward tolerance
insanity from aversions leaving me completely bewildered.
Today, I am hitting the mute button
not trying to make sense of those who are compromising integrity
as decency swirls and is flushed in an abyss of pure darkness.
Today, I am hitting the mute button
shedding the craziness, zapping my energy, leading me to despair
I shall not be a glutton for such punishment, no not today.
