The threat of invasion darkens the daily struggle for life in El Fasher, the main city in Sudan’s western Darfur region and the last major urban centre still under the army’s control.

“We all live in absolute fear and constant worry of what awaits us in the coming days,” says Osman Mohammed, a 31-year-old English teacher.

Mohammed Ali Adam Mohamed, a 36-year-old grocery shop owner with five children, has no doubt what a full-scale battle would mean.

Uncovering secrets of the glasswing butterfly’s see-through wings! — Palm Oil Detectives | Barbara Crane Navarro

Most butterflies sport colourful, eye-catching wings. But some species flit about using mostly transparent wings. Researchers have now uncovered the tricks that one of these — the glasswing butterfly (Greta oto) — uses to hide in plain sight.Researchers viewed the wings of these Central American butterflies under the microscope. There they spied sparse, spindly scales overlaying a see-through wing membrane. That membrane also has antireflective properties. It’s that combo that makes these insects so stealthy.

Manipulação – Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

O intuito maior da manipulação sobre  vítima, é a certeza do poder que o manipulador emocional tem sobre ela ou seja, ele “dita as regras”  da relação. Estas que, por sua vez, é baseada em uma trama de mentiras e incertezas.

Look After Yourself – Belladonna’s Flashlight

Because if you don’t, no one else will!

When I was a young Bella, a single Bella, a Bella without children, I was under the impression that once I became all the things that I wasn’t, I would have to push myself to the back burner.

And for a short while, I did just that!

When my third child came along, I gained 40 pounds more than what I was used to carrying, and I was uncomfortable with who I had become. Now, I know weight doesn’t define you, but for me, I’m not my best self if I’m overweight.

My top priorities were

  1. My kids and husband
  2. Relationship with God
  3. Being involved with my kid’s school and extracurriculars
  4. My household
  5. Running a new business

Last on the list

  1. Me
  2. Me again
  3. And me again
  4. And once again, ME

You might see ME on the list four times, but yeah, I never made it that far on my list. Looking after myself wasn’t a thing. I felt guilty going to the gym, going for a walk alone, lifting weights, and making special meals just for me.

That’s crazy thinking!

I chose ME

When my youngest child was six months old, I popped back on my list and NEVER stopped looking after me.

Are you looking after yourself? If not, why?

If you are feeling like you don’t deserve to, I would love to know why you feel that way. Sometimes, the way we think is because of how we were raised or due to what we saw growing up.

Taking care of yourself is a precious responsibility and a must if you want to feel truly fulfilled. And with that, I would love to know how you are planning to look after yourself this weekend.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Video Shows Police Manhandling 65-Year-Old At Campus Protest | HuffPost Latest News

Orleck said police officers in riot gear were “swooping in” and arresting those who were part of the encampment. She and her faculty friends tried to stand between the two sides, thinking the police wouldn’t get physical with older women.

“Well, that was wrong,” Orleck said.

She started taking pictures with her phone and telling the police to leave the demonstrators alone. She says she was thrown to the ground. A video from Dartmouth student journalist David Adkins posted on X shows Orlick getting up and confronting police. Orlick says one took her phone and she was demanding it back.

The video from WMUR journalist Ross Ketschke shows a cop in riot gear yanking Orleck away from the protest and handing her off to a pair of cops in trooper-style hats. Orleck tumbles to the ground — she says she didn’t fall but was pushed. Then they drag her onto her stomach.

“They slammed me down … They were dragging me. My hands still hurt … They kneeled on my back,” Orleck said.

Dartmouth history professor Annelise Orleck said the protests on campus were peaceful until police in riot gear started removing people.

“I called him, ‘Mr President’. He said, ‘You can call me Joe.’ I said, ‘Can I call you Joe-B-Wan Kenobi?’ He liked that.”

Hamill left the podium to whoops and applause from a few starstruck reporters. The first question to the press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, began: “May the Force be with you.” She replied: “May the Force be with you or, tomorrow, the 4th be with you, however you want to look at it.”
