Echoes of Resilience: A Journey – Kaushal Kishore

In parched drains, waters once flowed,

Ponds, once full, now desiccated, slowed…

Rivers dwindle, their currents wane,

Scarcity grips, every artery and vein…

*

Water, the lifeblood, now a rare sight,

Scarce in the day, scarce in the night…

Is it only the heat or some unseen hand,

That steals water from this thirsty land?

*

Even tears shed, in sorrow’s embrace,

Evaporate swiftly, leaving no trace…

In this arid realm, where life’s tune fades,

Yet hope whispers through barren glades…

*

In the abyss of despair, a glimmer of light,

Though shadows loom, obscuring the sight…

Echoes in hearts persist, thru’ sorrow and pain,

Better days will return, like the silvery rain…

*

Hearts, though weary, still dare to dream,

Amidst the darkness, a flicker, a gleam…

The moon’s soft glow, a comforting sight,

Promises solace even in the darkest night…

*

In the sky, a canvas of blue and white,

Where clouds will gather, in pure delight…

Dancing with the foggy droplets of mirth,

Anointing grace upon the grateful earth….

*

Though doubts will linger, hearts persist,

Echoing hopes of better days not missed…

Brighter horizons, fervent prayers sway,

Heralding the dawn of a promising day…

*

Through tears and trials, our way shall unveil,

Embracing every opportunity, we’ll prevail…

For amidst despair’s grip and anguish’s reign,

Brighter days await, to return once again…

P.S. 1

It appears that spring has come to an end for us. The scorching sun has begun to display its typical unpredictable behaviour. We now anticipate the rain to give us respite once more with its downpour, though it may be delayed this year as forecasted.

Words – Anonymously Hal

Words have a lasting impact,
even the most seemingly insignificant ones.

Simple sentences morph into occult scars
that radiate with permanence and persistence within our heads.
Intrusive echoes left to remind us
of days long past and moments long gone.

Mere words become our
blessings and burdens.

Easily spoken,
yet impossible to forget.

Sunak accused of launching ‘full-on assault on disabled people’ | Welfare | The Guardian

…Rishi Sunak is considering withdrawing a major cash disability benefit from some people with mental health conditions, prompting claims he has launched a “full-on assault on disabled people”.

The prime minister announced fresh curbs on disability benefits on Friday, saying he wanted to explore whether some cash payments to claimants with mental health conditions could be replaced by treatment or access to services.

In a speech on welfare, Sunak said he was launching a consultation on the personal independence payment (Pip), a non-means-tested benefit paid to disabled people to help with the extra living costs caused by long-term disability or ill health…

My birthday is around now, so my dear Khashayar created an itinerary that turned out to be even more fun that either of us anticipated. We both took a day off, including me pausing my search for a stellar agent to rep my novels, to explore downtown Los Angeles’s historic district. Old, in this earthquake-rattled region, is defined as any building still standing after 100 years — give or take.

Like the PacMutual Building…Daal and Khashayar in the antique lobby of the PacMutual Building.

And the Bradbury Building of Blade Runner movie fame…Khashayar in the vintage lobby of the Bradbury Building.
