Rich soil

tilling purpose,

planting affection in neat rows

nurturing,

adding wonder to things that grow

soul-blossoming overflowing

gardens

Beneath the Sheen – Kaushal Kishore

Beneath the sheen,

where truths reside,

Lurk flaws unseen,

in depths they hide…

Charm may beguile,

catching the eye,

Yet deeper scrutiny

unveils what truly lies…

*

Meticulously explore

the seemingly bleak,

For within the shadows,

virtues may speak…

Embrace imperfections,

don’t turn away,

For wisdom hides within,

in a subtle display…

*

Peer beyond the facade,

delve past the shine,

In faults and blemishes,

true beauty may align…

For what appears as

negative in the initial sight,

Might harbour virtues,

hidden in the heart’s light…

*

New Day Red Pepper Frittata | snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Cheerful Choices: New Day Red Pepper Frittata! When you need breakfast for more than one, think frittata. Omelets serve one, frittatas serve two or more. Nowadays the courteous thing to do is omit the crust in case someone needs a low-carb gluten-free option. You can always serve the frittata with a crusty artisan piece of buttered toast for those who like bread with their meal. Using light cream will result in more of a creamy egg custard, but can certainly be omitted. Because I had already packed my iron skillet, I had to make due with a baking dish. Baking the frittata in an iron skillet gives the edges a “fried” appearance, which always gets the mouth drooling…

Songs I Like (16) | beetleypete

Sticking with another 1980s pop record, very much the sound of an era in Britain. This was never meant to be ‘serious music’, there were plenty of other bands taking themselves seriously enough at the time. However, it was a good dose of strong vocals, slick production, and songs that were that little bit ‘different’. You remember the chorus, and sometimes all of the lyrics. They were played on the radio, the videos were shown on TV, and (almost) nobody really hated them.

ABC is an English pop band that originated in Sheffield in 1980, evolving from the earlier ensemble Vice Versa. The band’s classic formation featured Martin Fry as the lead vocalist, Mark White on guitar and keyboards, Stephen Singleton playing the saxophone, and David Palmer behind the drums. They had a lot of hits at the time, and developed a good following. Lead singer Martin Fry is still performing as ABC, with different band members.

A Warm Message from the Governor of North Carolina Regarding My Book of Poetry 🙏🏼 | From Behind the Pen

What a way to celebrate National Poetry Month! OMG, I received this lovely letter from the Governor of our state, Governor Roy Cooper. His letter warmed my heart and humbled my spirit as he thanked me for sharing a copy of my book, “We Are Poetry: Lessons I Didn’t Learn in a Textbook” with him. He said he looked forward to having the opportunity to read it.

My humbleness comes because with such a busy schedule he has to lead the state of North Carolina, just to take the time to sign and send this letter (although I know he has a staff taking care of these things) his acknowledgment alone fills my heart with unspeakable joy! Trust me, I am grateful. If and when he gets the chance to read it, I’d be honored, but my humble heart is already overflowing with gratitude. Thank you, Governor Cooper! 🙏🏼

I feel like Des’ree’s 1994 song, “You Gotta Be.”
