Allow me to share two brief anecdotes today, without adding any commentary from my end. Take a moment to reflect.
1. I visited the closest pharmacy to purchase a strip of paracetamol, as I was suffering from headache. Upon noticing the absence of the usual shopkeeper, I inquired of the man who served me, “Where is the owner?” He casually responded, “He’s gone to the nearby coffee shop, as he was experiencing a headache.”
2. One day, my family and I visited a restaurant for lunch. As we entered, the owner greeted us warmly at the gate, eager to make a good impression since it was our first visit. He urged us to try their meals, assuring us they were akin to home-cooked food, and asked for our feedback before we left. Delighted by the delicious food, I wanted to express my gratitude to him, but he was nowhere to be seen. When I inquired with the counter clerk, he informed me that the owner was enjoying his lunch in his office, as his packed lunch had just arrived. I was puzzled and asked, “Why the packed lunch?” The clerk promptly replied, “He prefers not to eat meals from outside.”

Wednesday the 20th marked a calendar month since we lost Ollie. Never a day goes by when I don’t still think he will be there when I get up in the morning, or be greeting me with tail-wagging joy when I return to the house after being out…
I have been beating my head against the proverbial wall trying to decide which of many important topics to write about for this morning’s post, and am getting nowhere. I am sick to death of hearing about and writing about Donald Trump, and yet that is what dominates the news cycle these days. I have a couple of posts started, but just don’t feel motivated tonight. So, I figured I needed a break and probably you guys do too! So … where to find something to give us some comic relief, to provide some smiles and chuckles … OH … I KNOW … there’s no place quite like Sally’s Smorgasbord to fill that bill! Once again, Sally and Debby know just how to tug the corners of our mouths into a smile! Thank you both for always having the key to our lighter side!
