Tonight’s Playing For Change song is a bit different from the previous ones in that it doesn’t feature musicians from all over the globe, but rather is done by the Playing For Change Band. I have played Sam Cooke’s version of this song a few times here in my music posts, the last time almost exactly a year ago, but this one by the Playing For Change Band has something special, I think.
From the Playing For Change website …
The Playing For Change Band’s “Back To Your Roots” tour played venues across North America in the Spring of 2012. This performance of “A Change is Gonna Come” was one of the highlights of an amazing show, live in Folsom, CA. Grandpa may be a blind man, but he sees the light!
We are proud to share with all of you this special performance of the PFC Band Live in Curitiba, Brazil. This one night of music created our first PFC music school in Brazil that will give the gift of music education for generations. As Grandpa Elliott and Clarence Bekker sing, “It’s been a long time coming but I know a change is gonna come…” Enjoy the music and share this positive energy with everyone you meet!
It’s always hard to take the first step in the dark, but eventually, your eyes get adjusted to the darkness, and the next steps become a little easier.
Just like weight loss, boys and girls!
The first day of your new beginnings is going to be as difficult as you make it. No one expects you to take off running in the dark; you have to take baby steps until your new way of life becomes easier for you to manage.
For example, if you’re used to eating all day and then suddenly go from that to one salad, water, and a few pieces of fruit, you’ll quickly find yourself eating everything in sight. Then, you’ll complain because no diet seems to work.
Bullet PROOF PLAN
We are human, so we will make mistakes and may need to start over a few times. NO BIG DEAL!
All you have to do is write down your plan, make sure it makes sense, and ensure that it’s doable. The one mistake you want to avoid is going after your new weight loss journey so aggressively that you can’t keep up with your plans. Not being able to keep up with your plans will cause frustration.
So what should you do?
Adjust the times that you eat and put yourself on a schedule
Get out and enjoy the fresh air
Choose a workout crew for accountability
Start rewarding yourself with things other than food
Choose one day each week to take pictures of your progress
The same day you take pics, you should do a weigh-in
Speak nice to yourself
Whatever workout you choose to do today, do it with the best intentions and have fun. You were blessed to wake up this morning, so if you have to start over, DO IT.
