The temple in you… – Chen Song Ping

It’s up on a hill,

grandly, majestically,

rows of lanterns lit.

*****

Tien Ho is it’s name;

Imperial Empress Goddess,

popular tour site!

*****

Do you come often?

Me? Only festive seasons;

religiously poor!

****

Oh, it’s ok dear!

you are spiritually rich!

the temple’s in you!

******

I brought an overseas friend to see the Tein Ho ( Imperial Empress Goddess) temple in Kuala Lumpur. It was a sight to behold; beautifully lit-up, like a jewel in the night atop a hill.

CDC [plan for] easing covid isolation guidance worries vulnerable people – The Washington Post

A passenger wears a mask in January at the Metro Center station.

The CDC’s planned isolation revisions for covid say people could return to school and work if they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medication and they have mild and improving symptoms. (Matt McClain/The Washington Post)

…People with compromised immune systems worry that co-workers will return to the office while they’re still contagious. At the same time, the few remaining policies guaranteeing paid leave for employees with covid are largely coming to an end. New York, the only state that still requires paid leave for covid isolation, is considering ending that benefit this summer…

Church hands out free Paxlovid treatments to combat COVID-19

The treatment, which was provided by the Florida Department of Health, was given away as the FDOH reports there have been nearly 100,000 cases of COVID-19 across the state since the start of 2024.

At the same time, data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the JN.1 variant is causing 92% of cases across the country.

“Seemingly every week we are still dealing with the COVID-19 virus,” Toby Philpart, senior pastor at New Bethel Baptist Church, said. “COVID is still real.”

Promising – Ellie Kennard

A panoramic landscape with the lowest quarter in a deep shadow, field and some trees. The rest is sky with a brilliant orange and cream sunset in a blue background. The very top is a blue.
Red Sky at Night, Sailor’s Delight

With so much uncertainty in the world today, we have to hold on to promises that we’re sure of.

This sunset is one reason to always take my camera when I go for a walk. Because you know that if you don’t, something will be there for you to photograph with something better than a phone. This particular time it was with me. I confess it’s too cold to hold it at the moment and too clumsy with heavy gloves, but it won’t be long until the warmth will start again, and that’s a promise.

My Landscapes are all in this gallery.

Notas musicales – Santiago Galicia Rojon Serrallonga
