Santa Claus – Kaushal Kishore

Learning from their pals, with joy in their hearts,

My kids hung their socks, playing their cards…

Beside their beds, socks dangling like a slender thread,

Excitement abounded, hankies beneath pillows spread…

*

On Christmas eve, in dreams so grand,

They awaited Santa, gifts close at hand…

Little did they know, as years unfurled,

Santa was their dad, a tale to be swirled…

*

Chocolates and gifts, a magical masquerade,

Dad behind the beard, the jolly charade…

Years passed by, roles swapped with glee,

Now they play Santa, just like Dad used to be…

*

But no more pretending, secrets laid bare,

They’ve embraced the joy, traditions to share…

No longer waiting on bright Christmas eves,

They’ve become Santas for Dad, as tradition believes…
