Utah man accused of threatening president pointed gun at agents, FBI says
The Utah man accused of making violent threats against President Joe Biden before a trip to Salt Lake City last week pointed a handgun at FBI agents attempting to arrest him, the agency said on Monday.
Craig Robertson, a 75-year-old Air Force veteran, was killed during a raid on his home in Provo last Wednesday, hours before Biden arrived. FBI agents went to his home early in the morning to arrest him for three felonies, including making threats against the president and agents who had been investigating him for months, according to court records unsealed after the raid…

Pasadena Maintains Masking and COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Health Care Workers – Office of the City Manager
Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) reminds the community that health care workers (HCW) in Pasadena must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination and must wear masks in healthcare and direct care settings as required by Pasadena Health Officer Orders.
Pasadena has observed evidence of a surge in local COVID-19 cases. Over the last month, there has been a 35% increase in weekly cases. We know this is an underestimate of cases because of the widespread adoption of at-home antigen tests, which do not require reporting to the public health department. Additionally, the COVID-19 test positivity rate in Los Angeles County increased from 5.5% to 7.6% this week. A spike from previously stable rates this year.

As of epidemiological week #31 of 2023, the PAHO reported authorities in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, the USA, and Venezuela have detected outbreaks of Highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1) viruses in domestic birds, farm poultry and/or wild birds, and in mammals.
Among the mammals identified as of August 9, 2023, red foxes and skunks were the most frequently affected in North America and fur seals in South America. For example, Argentina’s Senasa reported on August 11, 2023, the country’s first avian flu detections in sea lions.
And in Chile, about 16,000 sea lions have died due to HPAI infections this year…
