… What do you think, are the Danes proud of Jonas Vingegaard? (He won the Tour de France for the second time this year.)

… One commentator even said that trough his victory a bit of glamour is rubbing off on Denmark. In my opinion it is a solely personal achievement, and the club for which he is cycling is from the Netherlands.

It’s All Greek To Me, On Public Transportation!
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
In the beginning, I thought I could study Esperanto by using all of the languages that I either know, or am studying. After all, it is an entirely different language family from Greek, Turkish, or Hebrew (well, ok, actually, principles are taken from each of those languages, as well…), and Spanish and French are quite comfortable for me. But probably not enough to study on a moving bus.
Oops. There is still the time, and hand cramp, of writing in vocabulary for each of those languages, and having to look up the Turkish, Greek, and often the Hebrew, which I dropped because it is just too much to try to track the differences between modern and Biblical Hebrew while learning other languages at the same time.

Given the interest readers have expressed over the years, I thought I might share some of my newest language learning journey here on my…

What do we owe each other?
Saania's diary - reflections, learnings, sparkles
I often wonder, why do I crave likes and comments after publishing a blog post? Why do I hit the gym so that people can finally say I am in shape? What drives my desire for praise when I excel academically? And why do compliments become essential after I dress all sleek and stylish?
Receiving approval from others bolsters my self-esteem. It motivates me to do more. However, this seemingly innocuous ‘pat on the back’ becomes a slippery slope the moment I attach myself to these approvals in order to feel competent or whole. Sounds awful, no?
But what I have learnt in the past couple of months is that the most important gift you can give to someone or something is your love, time, and kindness. Bingo. Here are 3 reasons why I feel we should do good without expecting good in return:
1. Know that we are making

Stand Still and Hold Your Head Up High!

“When everything seems to fall apart, stand still, hold your head up high, smile, and tell yourself to carry on. You can make it!” -Anonymous
We face challenges, issues, and downright drama far more than we care to. These things just don’t seem to throw us a curve ball, but sometimes we “feel” like the curve ball. There are things that may be beyond our control, so honey, don’t try to control them. You won’t win. I’ve learned to do what you can with what you have and with what you “know.” It’s a harsh lesson to learn, but you learn.
Listen honey, you can’t change people or make them change to be pleasing or acceptable to you. Nor can you force them to accept you. So, sometimes you have to say, “Bye Boo.” It may hurt for a while, but you will learn to use that time wasted on…

Lavender Lemon Meltaways
What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Elevated Edibles: Lavender Lemon Meltaways! Are you still on the fence about tasting the flavor of lavender? Is it possible you believe it’s way too close to air freshener or bath soap? Think about this a moment…one of the most popular cooking staples in France is dried herbes de Provence. Lavender is in there. It’s a distant cousin to rosemary, which is one reason the leaves can appear similar in young plants. The taste of lavender has a slight undertone of fresh mint, making it a perfect partner for lemon in homemade cakes, creamy frostings, and sprinkled on ice cream. Now I see I have your full attention.

If I Were The Prez …
I was thinking last night … trying to put myself in President Biden’s shoes … and the thought came to me on wave after brainwave … if I were President Biden, I would contact Speaker McCarthy, and Senate Majority Leader Schumer and ask them to call a joint session of Congress on Friday afternoon, and to make sure that Chief Justice John Roberts and a full press was in attendance.
And here is what I would say in that joint session …
Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of Congress … and Republicans, too … what I have come here today to tell you is not an easy thing. The decision I am about to share with you is one I have spent many a sleepless hour mulling and pondering, but for the sake of my family, I feel it is the only decision I can make, the only one that…
