It seems to me that the political cartoonists just keep getting better … perhaps it’s because they have so much material to work with! I imagine they get up in the morning, troll the news, and wonder where to even start. I’ve been collecting a few since last time I did a political ‘toon post, and it’s time to clean out the file just a bit, so here you go … enjoy!!!

Fighting for Democracy
Starting a war to bring democracy ~
I came to the sad conclusion
That it’s a natural contradiction
It’s not without hypocrisy

Maturidade e responsabilidade andam juntos.

Comforting Thought: Your body is not just mineral and elemental. No, it’s vividly alive
We only get one body in this life, the one we are each endowed with at this moment. Please begin by giving yours the respect it deserves.
Did you realise that every atom is 14.5 billion years old? All bodies are part of matter, created at the big bang, 10 billion years before earth appeared.
The water in your body seems to flow into your mouth from a fountain or a glass, then out again through pores and orifices. But like all of the waters on earth, no one knows where it came from. Perhaps a comet’s tail, it’s said.
Your body isn’t just mineral and elemental. No, it’s vividly alive, as anyone knows who’s ever danced, had a sore throat, made love or stubbed a toe.
All of the baroque variety of life on earth is considered to come from a tiny common ancestor who appeared about 4 billion…

वादा / Promise

You had said,
“I’ll forget everything,
you and your face too,”
but the way
you turned your face away
seeing me yesterday,

you didn’t keep your promise…

I USED TO LIVE IN MIAMI
I USED TO LIVE IN MIAMI
I worked in the main library near Biscayne Bay.
I graduated from Miami Jackson High School,, took art and was on the Globe staff. I took Radio Speech and was a dee jay some Saturdays, courtesy of Mr. Fisher our teacher. At one point I got free lunch while a student there. Mrs. Halliday was my homeroom teacher.
The thought of Miami this day, Tuesday, is saddening. I think of the lemmings…the lemmings and of the Pied Piper of Hamlin.
