The Collection Disconnection

From Behind the Pen

In my quest to declutter my clutter, I opened one of my closets that revealed boxes of my collectibles from the past, and immediately I knew it was a bad mistake and I was in trouble. I looked at the boxes, after the dust settled, of what was once my personal pride and joy. Some of these items are valuable collectibles and others are valuable to me, because of my attraction to their collectible appeal. What in the heck am I going to do with all of this stuff?

What were my mad thoughts behind indulging in such collections in the first place? I opened and looked in a few of these boxes, smiled affectionately, and closed those boxes back. Then I shut the closet door, walked to the kitchen, poured myself a glass of wine, sat my butt down, and disconnected my roaming blur of thoughts behind those boxes…
