Finally, a Glimmer of Global Health Light

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

This spark needs to be fanned into a global health care flame of hope for all of us, through learning, and through persistent caring about all of us:

“This is a long overdue technology”

From NPR, by Fran Kritz

Indeed, it is long overdue.  With no need for cold storage, medical bio hazard waste or the sharps disposal infrastructure needed, not to mention the trained medical staff, needed to deliver vaccines via shots, and no clean water for rendering the concentrate into individual doses (which I had never read about until now, and that requires even further training and staff time…), and no wasted doses.  Why has this not been done far, far earlier?  Yes, I know that the big pharmaceuticals and other groups benefit from costly supply chains, need for electricity, transportation requirements, and even from the wasted doses, but really, people, where is the humanity…

Take a look at Ruth’s experience with animals:

OUR ANIMAL FAMILY

Last year’s nest of chickadees on the front porch

Hanging basket of bright orange impatience,

All hatched, sang, tested their wings and flew away.

This year a nest of four robin’s eggs on the front porch

Atop a plastic floral wreath hanging on the wall,

Still incubating, so we’re using the side door.

An unopened walnut tucked into the wicker mail basket

Also on the front porch. A thank you for the stale Cheerios?

Two big black ants on the white counter top

Face to face, in an embrace not moving

Even with me coming in for a close up.

A pregnant doe, with belly big and round,

Resting in the backyard, watching me…

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

For a woman to be beaten, the abuser must have complete control over her. Exactly. The woman who catches, her psychological is so fragile that she is unable to substantiate any question about what happens to her…

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Work Until You Die

In Saner Thought

That seems to be the answer dollar crisis that the GOP has for the crumbling retirement infrastructure….every time they control something in DC their first reaction is that workers need to retire later than last fiddled with…..

And it is that time again…..GOP is trying to push through another extension on your working ages…..

But is that truly the answer to the looming crisis?

Right-wing lawmakers’ preferred method for dealing with the United States’ looming retirement crisis—telling older workers to keep toiling until they’ve saved enough to stop—is “not a viable solution,” says a report published Wednesday.

“Millions of people are entering their retirement years with insufficient savings to cover basic expenses and medical bills,” the new analysis from the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) notes. “In response, some policymakers have proposed that older Americans could delay retirement to increase their savings.”

But this ostensible fix “overlooks the large group of…
