Use of antibiotics in farming ‘endangering human immune system’ | Antibiotics | The Guardian

“This is potentially much more dangerous than resistance to antibiotics,” said Prof Craig MacLean, who led the research at the University of Oxford. “It highlights the danger of indiscriminate use of antimicrobials in agriculture. We’ve accidentally ended up compromising our own immune system to get fatter chickens.”

The findings could also have significant implications for the development of new antibiotic medicines in the same class as colistin, known as antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), which the scientists suggest could pose a particular risk of compromising innate immunity.

THE INVASION OF HEAVEN

THE INVASION OF HEAVEN

It’s so hard to think
with sludge on my mind.
New tricks on Microsoft,
an hour to find a way out
of intruder ads. The very
brazenness of blatantly
shoving illegal goods in
my face–yes, it’s those
crooked postage stamps
again (still).
I went to a meeting
and learned that 3
corporations own big
chunks of corporate
media! I’d pray for the souls
of the majority on the garbage
Court of the Land if there was
anyone honest left in heaven.
I’m talking about the Court
in 2010 and 2022, our
Days of Infamy.
Poetry doesn’t even look like
poetry any more; mine,
at least.

MiddleMe

As mentioned above, a business’s reputation or image is created with…

Review: La Gitanilla, by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

I’ve not got the energy at the moment to review the next episode (ep. 2, first season) of El Ministerio del Tiempo this Ministry Monday, so I thought I’d review a book related to a character who appears not once, but twice, in the series: Cervantes!

I really wanted to like more of the books mentioned in the series, as Olivares, creator of El Ministerio Del Tiempo, goes to great lengths to work many iconic books and authors from Spain into the series.  Especially after the incredible episode involving the most famous Spanish writer of the Golden Age of Spanish literature, Cervantes:  Monumento a Cervantes (1835) Madrid 01

This book, however, just mostly grated on me.  Here is my review:

Lo estoy dejando por floja. Demasiado amor y rhymos para mi.
