I am currently compiling a list of topics that I believe the Jamaican Government should be talking more about, educating the public about (and taking action on). Not only environmental topics (although the existential ot only in relation to the environment. It is getting quite long.

One of these is sustainable, climate-smart agriculture in all its forms. There is so much more that could be done in developing innovative local solutions. So, I am posting this press release from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a great example of what can be done. This is a project at Amity Hall Agro Park in McCooks Pen, St. Catherine.

Norovirus outbreaks grow in California. How to avoid infection – Los Angeles Times

health officials say it’s important to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to help prevent transmission.

If people need to clean soiled areas — including vomit or diarrhea — officials say it’s important to disinfect the area with a bleach-based household cleaner. One example could be using a chlorine bleach solution with five to 25 tablespoons of household bleach per gallon of water.
