Our previous episode was bölüm/episode 19: Sihirli Annem (My Magical Mom) s1e19: Childishness. This time, to start with the ending, as some suggest, I must confess that I really do miss those Turkish breakfasts with neighbors, of feta-like cheese, tomato (and in Izmir, cucumber) slices, olives, and soft-boiled egg, chatting around the table with the strong Turkish tea early in the morning. Remember, also, importantly, that fainting is a metaphor for really, really liking something! When Turks say “bayıldı” they mean not necessarily that someone fainted, literally, but that the person loved something, or was wildly happy, ecstatic, about it.
