  1. Frankly, I disagree with the premise. Native Alaskans themselves are divided, half or more supporting the pipeline project for economic reasons. Biden met with their leadership before making the decision. The blunt truth is that there is a trade-off almost always between short term interests and longer term necessity. Business interests can’t be blind to environmental impact, and environmentalists can’t ignore economic impact. That is unless or until we can completely reinvent our economic structure.

    1. Agree – at same time – it was less than company wanted and other lands were added to no drill. Press has given very little coverage to tribes who advocated for the project. I wish permission had not been given but understand why it was done.
