Am 8. März ist Internationaler Frauentag, auch Weltfrauentag genannt. Jährlich wird mit Demos und Kundgebungen auf die Rechte von Frauen aufmerksam gemacht.. Dieses Mal möchte ich besonders die Frauen und Mädchen im Iran hervorheben, die seit langer Zeit vehement und teilweise unter Lebensgefahr für ihre Rechte im islamischen Staat kämpfen, wobei sie auch von vielen Männern unterstützt werden. Frau, Leben, Freiheit ist das Motto des Protestes. Aber auch die Frauen und Mädchen in Myanmar können zur Zeit nicht so leben, wie es ihrem Wunsch entspricht, seit vor zwei Jahren das Militär durch einen Putsch an die Macht gekommen istl

Documentary captures stories of 5,434 Japanese Americans detained at Pomona Fairplex in WWII – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

More than 80 years after 5,434 Japanese American citizens were held in encampments at the Fairplex in Pomona at the height of World War II, efforts to preserve the stories of detainees continue.

On Friday, March 3, Bacon Sakatani, Mike Hatchimonji and Ted Hamachi — now in their 90s — revisited the fairgrounds where they and their families were ordered to live from May to August 1942 after disposing of their homes, businesses, and most of their possessions.
