Envuelto en niebla, entre los rumores y los silencios de la lluvia y del viento, el árbol viejo balanceaba sus ramas, en perfecto equilibrio y armonía con la naturaleza, con la creación, con la vida. Disfrutaba el regalo que, desde hacía tantos años, le había entregado la vida. Compartía su sombra y atraía la lluvia y el oxígeno. Daba lo mejor de sí.

Por vivir tanto, el árbol había quedado solo e irreconocible, anciano y rodeado de plantas, flores y arbustos jóvenes, egoístas e incapaces de convidar agua y de compartir espacios soleados a otras especies. Habían olvidado, parece, su encomienda, su misión, su labor.
