Positive Vibes…Gone
What has happened in the UK today/yesterday. isn’t just “heading towards” it is Facism.
On the same day that a top UK police officer was found guilty of raping women over his 20 year “service” The Tory decided it’d be the best day to make peaceful protesting a crime. That is Fascism.
Blocking the Scotland’s GRR Reform outright is Fascism. Not letting it go through the proper channels, and just outright a completely different countries democratic vote, is Fascism. There is no legitimate reason to block that vote. The fact that this is first time in the longest time the UK Government has done this to Scotland. Maybe even the first. It is spiteful, but having Kemi Badenoch as the LGBT and Equalities Minister, was a big sign of how spiteful this Tory Government is.
Don’t even get me started on the bunch of TERFs quoting Hitler and Joseph Goebbles…

Conservative??? I Think NOT — Filosofa’s Word

The debt ceiling will soon become a crisis by any definition. Too many people are under the misconception that raising the debt ceiling gives way to new spending – it does not. Raising the debt ceiling simply allows the U.S. government to continue to function, to pay the debts and obligations it has already incurred. […]

Nicola Sturgeon says gender reform row will go to court – BBC News
Ms Sturgeon told BBC political editor Chris Mason that Mr Jack was making a “profound mistake” and accused him of launching a “direct attack on the institution of the Scottish Parliament”.
She said it would “inevitably end up in court” and that the Scottish government would “vigorously defend this legislation”.
The first minister added: “In doing so we will be vigorously defending something else, and that is the institution of the Scottish Parliament and the ability of MSPs, democratically elected, to legislate in areas of our competence.
“In short, we’ll be defending Scottish democracy”.

Illustrating exponential growth using movement towards a target, revisited
The greatest shortcoming of the human race is our inability to understand the exponential function.
Professor Albert Bartlett (1923–2013)
Back in May, I used a series of photos taken at regular intervals along a footpath in an attempt to illustrate exponential growth. Last month, I happened to be walking that same path once again. That day was not a bright, sunny one; it was instead bitterly cold, and a freezing fog obscured the view ahead (cue the ignorant climate science deniers crying, “Global warming? What global warming?”). Halfway along the path, it suddenly struck me that this would be a far better way of portraying a journey into a murky future. I retraced my steps to the start of the path so that I could repeat the exercise, once again taking snapshots fifty steps apart….

What the Jan. 6 probe found out about social media, but didn’t report – The Washington Post
The Jan. 6 committee’s 845-page report offered few details of social media’s role in the Capitol riot. Transcripts and an unreleased memo shows the committee knew more.
