here I may pray-here you may make your confession. I would inhale the gifts life has given me-payments via the growth and nurture of the beauty of my soul.

beauty is not for rebirth. beauty is for an exchange without propriety. There are some deaths that inevitably live on, and conversely, some lives are quick to diminish in the hearts of humanity.

shut

I’m shutting down the afternoon

via the fractured streets

.

I’m shutting down the night

via the scent of sapless wines

.

I’m shutting down the day

via the lifting sunlight

.

I’m shutting down myself

via the palpable darkness

.

I’m shutting down time

via the time passed

.

I’m shutting down love

via a graveyard, the fall

a verse listening to Leonard Cohen

a verse high on Phạm Duy

a verse pondered through the phở

a verse sprinkled over a napkin

a verse drenched in the shower

a verse watchful on the internet

a verse wandering around the neighbourhood of an afternoon
