Cherokee turkey flock culled for avian flu – Cherokee Chronicle Times Iowa

A commercial turkey flock of 100,000 birds was culled after highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) was confirmed, the Iowa Department of Agriculture reported on Tuesday.

An additional 40,000 turkeys were also destroyed this week at a  Sac County. And last Friday, Buena Vista County was stricken with HPAI for the fifth time in nine months in a turkey flock of 40,000.
