Smile… 40 days and 40 nights. It really depends on the habit or routine. It took 4 days to get through the first bout of quitting smoking and nearly 3 months of constant work to make it work after 40 plus years of 2 packs a day. 40 days to create a daily walking routine did the trick to get on journey to lose 105 pounds – but it took 14 months to lose the weight. It’s been 18 years of no smoking and 22 years of maintaining weight at desired level. 40 days is always a good start for a new pattern.

I am just kidding, sorry, trying to find an excuse, why I fail. I did get rid of smoking quite early, at the second try, but the weight is a different thing. Moving too little, eating too much. A daily walking routine might work wonders … hmmm.

I started slow and steadily built up. Began with half kilometer in morning and in evening for two weeks, Then 1k in am and pm for another two weeks. Then 2k am and pm for two weeks. And so on and so on.

105 pounds in 14 months is not slow, I think, that is about 3.7 kilos per months, not bad at all!
