Calm through the Storm in a Matter of Minutes

Oh, what a beautiful day. You know, our area was in the trajectory of the wrath of Hurricane Ian, but our forecast quickly changed in a matter of minutes. Upon its approach to hitting the Carolinas, it did pounce in parts of the southern regions, but not as severe as it did in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Florida. But when we expected Ian to hit our area, it fizzled so quickly, like the flame of a match head. We were spared disaster.

I reflect on a poem that is included in my first book and was featured in a post from 2017. It is such a time as this when I am tempted to whine and complain that I think about how truly grateful I am and realize that what could have been, wasn’t.
