Luisteren naar waterland (Listening to waterland)

Ik zwem in water en denk aan water. Water voor de blinde en water voor het land. Water voor de wormen en water op het zand. Vennen die weer vollopen en vissen die weer zwemmen. Plassen in het veld, die plas mogen zijn. Glooiingen en kommen in het landschap, waar de blinde naar mag luisteren.

Ooit hoorde ik een radio interview met een blinde man, die in de regen stond. Hij vertelde met warme stem hoeveel hij hield van dit geluid. Het was de enige manier waarop hij het land kon zien! Zelfs de glooiingen in het grasveld kon hij onderscheiden door de neervallende druppels. Maar deze zomer van 2022, het was zó droog… Dat zal voor hem extra moeilijk zijn geweest.
