Months–meses — Coisas da SIL

Os cincos meses de sobrevivênciaJá se foram.Quantos aprendizadosChoros, risos e flores. Algumas pessoas passaramOutras chegaramOutras ficaram. Tive semanas de silêncio De retiro, sumiço e gritos. Tive dias sombriosPavorosos e confusos. Tive medo, pensei que fosse boboGraças tudo se foi. Resolvi umas urgênciasTive algumas pendências. A stallion itching for the road

A poem in Vietnamese by Vũ Ngọc Giao Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm
A STALLION ITCHING FOR THE ROAD
.
heels tapping
a stallion itching for the road
the trees, silent . drooping shadows
watchful of the alleyways , late in the dark ..
.
the sudden overwhelming ascending fog
a disjointed song
slipping from someone’s lips
.
the horizon lopsided
We’re drunk to the last drop
a life off-kilter
.
lashes lifted, eyeful of stars
the night wide open
the scent of a breeze
.
heels tapping
a stallion in earnest for the road
the shadows, silent . the drooping trees
the deserted road , abandoned ..

in bed in the rapids
A poem in Vietnamese by Nguyễn Lãm Thắng Translator: Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm Art: Đinh Trường Chinh

IN BED IN THE RAPIDS Via each tear the light fading The long sigh through the rain So what if the is water rising! More for the heart, more pain? Howling rain screeching gale Even the kitchen corner, the rain whipping Pale shivering dog Slow and sure the cold seeping Gosh as though bleeding, the tragic portrayal On the wall confounding Sadder still the shrivelled damp pages The dying lines one after the other, a letter, a noun Heart-wrenching croaking Why bother with the displacing Raise the bed, to the ceiling The floor the lake, the spring The late returning wind Amidst the endless yearning and loss Night residing on water Endlessly adrift our life. The Waves Wash Over Me by Cindy Georgakas

The waves breath life into my dreams
and sail with the with the eagle;
swift,
hovering,
circling,
carried by the wind and rip tides as they arise
… like me….
With a keep eye, focused, intent,
at ease.
Clouds clear paths as vision opens
where time pauses and patience is honed
within the waiting and breathing
of the waves that wash over me
in Peace and Freedom as the eagle flies me home.

Did You Know – Green Pepper

Did you know that you can cut a green pepper and leave the seeds attached to the stem?
It is rare that I cut up a green pepper because I dislike the way they taste.
So todays picture below, is compliments of my husband as he loves green pepper.

Not one seed came loose from the stem, however, he has cut a lot of green peppers in his lifetime.
He makes a square out of it by slicing four sides from the pepper.
He said when he is done he also cuts the bottom off and uses it too.
So give it a try and see if you think my husbands way is easier and less messy.
