Russia interferes in abortion issue as part of war on West | openDemocracy
The Kremlin is waging a war against the West on many fronts, and supporting ultra-conservative demands – no abortion and no equal treatment for LGBTIQ people – is a strategic element of it. Russia is seeking to co-opt so-called ‘culture wars’ within countries into its own, overarching, anti-Western war. A war in which Ukrainians are now dying, but also one in which women are the victims: three women have died in Poland since the 2020 law came into force, due to infections from dead foetuses that hospitals had refused to remove. 🌞 Rise and Shine

“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” -Marcus Aurelius
This morning, the alarm clock went off, and perhaps you pushed the snooze button or maybe not. Yet whether or not you wanted to get out of bed, you probably had to. You may not feel like going to work or wherever you need to be this morning, but why waste the day moping, zapped from the energy to make the day count with productivity from the opportunity this day presents? Too often we miss the precious chances that could elevate us to a new level simply because we just didn’t feel like getting out of bed.
So today, take a moment to reflect on the possibilities that could champion you to look better, be better and do better…

tumbleweeds thread the head of a pin
while the size of our love’s always been
reminiscent of the dreams laden in your hands
like the flavor of morning dew
know that I’ve always seen you
in my mind
a place in my heart you always reside
while lavender fills the lines
and the love within me shines
together with the sun, the moon, and the stars
awaiting the next time
we hold hands under a canopy of two hearts
forevermore entwined

Two Thought Thursday -La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), on Empathy for the Sociopaths in our Lives??
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
My questions today are some I’ve asked before, but not gotten a response (pardon if I’m forgetting someone’s reply):
1.) Ought we to work toward having empathy for those, like a Sociopath such as Berlin, or a sociopath, such as Arturo, who have no empathy?
2.) Why, or why not?
My reaction this week tries not to spoil the episode: Cuestión de eficacia, and gives random reactions in the original Spanish, and most of the time in English, for the majority of my current readers:

Our nature and purpose
There are times when we have to become aware of our true nature and purpose by stopping to be influenced by other people’s paths.

Origine e diffusione
