RUMORS OF WARS AND SUFFERING

Rumors Of Wars

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Mathew 24: 6-8

Well, I apologize, in advance some of you may know my proclivity to look at things from different, and to some weird angles, as a child I grew as a nice catholic educated boy, at school, not to mean that at my final years was not quite a cynic. Given at the time to read a lot about wars, specially WWII

In fact even if I do not read war’s books in many years, I read enough to last me for a lifetime, and understand that there’s nothing nice or heroic…

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Ditto for me.

Filosofa's Word

I’ve heard it said that as one nears the end of this life, one becomes more introspective.  I believe that is true … it has been the cause of many a sleepless night of late.  While I’m not as brave as I once was, I am in many ways more courageous.  Yes, there is a difference between the two.  I used to be brave in the most foolhardy of ways … tempting fate, afraid of neither man nor beast.  Today, I am afraid of such things as driving the car more than a mile to the grocery store.  I was thinking the other night about some of the jobs I’ve had … why, I wouldn’t have the chutzpah to even apply for most of them today!  I’ve faced angry men pointing a gun at me, car wrecks, hurricanes … and never really felt afraid.  But today, though I may not…

Avian flu spreads to more than 30 states; public health threat deemed low – UPI.com

A highly contagious avian flu had spread to more than 30 states by Saturday, but the risk to public health is low, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed in a statement that the avian flu has spread to a commercial chicken flock in Lancaster County, Penn., and a domestic chicken flock in Utah County, Utah.

Pennsylvania and Utah are among more than 30 states where the bird flu, H5N1, has spread since January, CDC data shows.

While the virus spreads easily among birds with more than 27 million affected since January, according to CDC data, no human cases have been found in the United States.
