Two Drafting Tips, Writing Process: Editing Journal Notes
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
These are notes from my Do Better editing journal (separate from my Do Better journal, which records my thoughts about the process while outlining, drafting, and editing this book).
The overall objective remains that of putting a floor on poverty so that each and every baby born can have a safe childhood.
Action Prompts:
1.) Share some ideas you may have on how writing can help to solve homelessness and child abuse, starting right now,
2.) Write a story, post or tweet that uses those sources and your thoughts.

Wisconsin Man Charged with Seeking to Intimidate and Interfere with Housing Rights Following Racially-Motivated Incidents | OPA | Department of Justice
A federal criminal complaint was issued charging William A. McDonald, 54, of West Allis, Wisconsin, with using force and threatening to use force to injure, intimidate and interfere with the housing rights of multiple individuals because of their race, color or national origin. Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and U.S. Attorney Richard G. Frohling for the Eastern District of Wisconsin made the announcement.
According to a publicly filed complaint, law enforcement has been investigating a series of racially motivated incidents involving property damage and threats of bodily harm unless individuals move from West Allis. The complaint alleges that McDonald violated federal law with respect to one or more of these incidents.

‘What does missing in action mean? Is my son dead?’ Meduza talks to mothers of conscripts who served aboard the sunken Russian warship Moskva — Meduza
It’s been a week since the sinking of the Russian missile cruiser Moskva. The Ukrainian side reported that it struck the Black Sea Fleet’s flagship with two Neptune anti-ship cruise missiles on April 13. In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the Moskva sustained “serious damage” after an unexplained fire caused ammunition on board to explode; as a result, the warship allegedly sank while being towed to port in “stormy” waters. How many crew members were aboard the cruiser at the time remains unknown (though presumably they numbered in the hundreds). The Russian authorities have yet to confirm any casualties. Indeed, contrary to reports that dozens of sailors were killed, Moscow asserts that the entire crew was saved. Meduza spoke to the mothers of two Moskva crew members, who — despite the Russian Defense Ministry’s statements — haven’t contacted their loved ones since the warship sank.
