  1. But the western world also has a new word for war, does it not? It is called “armed conflict” now … After WWII, the Germans renamed their Ministry of War to Ministry of Defence. I think they did that in all or most of the European countries.

    1. US did that long ago – “The War Department existed from August 7, 1789 until September 18, 1947, when it split into the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force and joined the Department of the Navy as part of the new joint National Military Establishment (NME), renamed the United States Department of Defense in 1949.” War is war and killing is killing – calling it defense changes nothing.

    2. I think it was just a trend and not a joint decision. More wars afterward than before. Korea, Vietnam, India-China, India-Pakistan, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Irag, Iran, Afghanistan, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, the list is too long… Congo, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Cuba, Venezuela, Chile, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Columbia, Cambodia, SriLanka, Myanmar, Lebanon, former Yugoslavia, Kosovo,,,,,, too many… Algeria…
