guerras

[De repente solteira]

há tantas guerras dentro de uma guerra.

é triste;

dói.

não podem ser chamados de humanos,

os que matam.

crianças, jovens, velhos, mulheres, homens.

vidas viram pó.

o que fica é silêncio.

sem memórias.

Vão do tempo

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Nunca se sabe,

Nunca se conhece

Além daquilo que fixamos na memória

O esforço humano é ultrapassar o imaginário

Que vai além dos livros

Dos templos do conhecimento

( Bibliotecas)

Lês e me decifras

É a eterna peleja

De cada balbuciar humano

Como uma porta

As bibliotecas são um mundo que se abrem

A névoa cinza da memória

Do homem precário

Ele conhece o caminho

Mas se sente solitário

E sem saber lidar com as suas confidências

Inclina o rosto em cada vão do tempo.

Two GOP senators share photos from Zoom call with Zelensky despite requests not to | TheHill

Republican Sens. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Steve Daines (Mont.) shared photos from U.S lawmakers’ virtual meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after they were reportedly asked not to do so due to security concerns.

Both senators shared photos of Zelensky speaking to Congress on Twitter with captions indicating that they were on the call.

Multiple aides told NBC News lawmakers present were directed by Ukrainian officials not to share pictures of the president.

Democratic Reps. Dean Phillps (Minn.) and Jason Crow (Colo) slammed the senators later on Saturday.

“The Ukrainian Ambassador very intentionally asked each of us on the zoom to NOT share anything on social media during the meeting to protect the security of President Zelenskyy. Appalling and reckless ignorance by two US Senators,” Phillips tweeted.

“The lack of discipline in Congress is truly astounding. If an embattled wartime leader asks you to keep quiet about a meeting, you better keep quiet about the meeting,” Crow said.

Thoughts On Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Nomination

Filosofa's Word

It was just over a week ago that President Biden nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the seat on the U.S. Supreme Court being vacated by retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.  I fully intended to write this post sooner, but the war in Ukraine distracted me and pulled my attention in another direction.  However, I do think it’s important that we take a look at Ms. Brown Jackson prior to her confirmation hearing that is scheduled to begin in just over two weeks on March 21st.

The U.S. Supreme Court has been around for 232 years, and during that time 115 justices have served on the Court.  Care to guess how many have been white males?  Go on … take a wild guess.  Let me give you a hint … only 7 … SEVEN … have been either female or Black, and none have been both female and Black.  It’s…

Sherri Papini’s alleged kidnapping hoax stoked racial division, fear – Los Angeles Times

…As Papini told it, two Latina women held her at gunpoint and kept her in a small closet during three weeks of captivity. Investigators say she was actually spending time with an ex-boyfriend in Orange County, whom she had asked to come pick her up in Northern California.

Papini claimed her kidnappers drove a dark SUV and made her lie down in the back, saying her hips became sore after lying prone for over 40 minutes. In a 55-page affidavit filed Thursday in federal court, prosecutors said her ex-boyfriend picked her up in a rented sports car. She slipped into the back seat and at one point took a nap as he drove her to Southern California.

She told investigators that her kidnappers played “really annoying Mexican music” and that she heard slivers of a plan to sell her to someone in law enforcement as part of a human-trafficking deal. During the time she was missing, prosecutors said, she never left her ex-boyfriend’s home in Orange County…

Bay Area cop sentenced for killing unarmed mentally ill man – Los Angeles Times

Atienza said it pained the family that it took nearly three years to bring charges against Hall, during which time he fatally shot another man, Tyrell Wilson, who was homeless and mentally ill.

“The preferential treatment shown to Hall as an officer throughout this trial has only added to our trauma,” she said.

The case marked the first time a police officer was charged in an on-duty shooting in Contra Costa County, east of San Francisco, and is part of a push by more prosecutors to punish police misconduct after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis set off nationwide calls for social justice.
