McDonald’s under pressure for failing to boycott Russia as Ukraine war escalates – Mirror Online

Fast food giant McDonald’s is under fire for still trading in Russia as the war in Ukraine continues to claim innocent lives.

Dozens of big name brands including Apple, Nike and PayPal have confirmed they are temporarily cutting ties with Russia, in solidarity with Ukraine.

Several UK supermarkets have taken a stand as well, including Morrisons and the Co-Op, both of which have confirmed they will stop selling Russian Standard vodka.

Energy giants have also issued statements this week, such as British Gas, BP and Shell, which have all ended supply agreements with Russia.

But several huge companies have so far remained silent on whether they will sever links with Russia as well, with McDonald’s and PepsiCo being called out for continuing to trade in the country.

  1. Our huge shipping company Maersk is doing the same. First they only wanted to deliver the merchandise that was on a vessel already on its way to Russia and then stop delivering. But now they changed it to serve all contracts they had received before the war, which means that they will still deliver merchandise to Russia until June or so. And our government will not reprimand Maersk or forbid their ships to sail to Russia, as money rules here, just as everywhere else. It is disgusting.

    1. We have a weird situation here. The population wants to help Ukraine, but the politicians hardly address the situation. Our right wing Morten Messerschmidt said “Who is Zelenskij, never heard of him! Oh, you mean the comedian …” duh

    2. Double sad it seems. Individuals can donate money and give prayers… You government is laying low… We would stand behind your country if it were to be attacked… Can’t pretend that the denial of freedom to others does not effect you own.
