House Panel Recommends Contempt Charge for Stephen Bannon – The New York Times

One day before a mob of former President Donald J. Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol, Stephen K. Bannon, a former top adviser to Mr. Trump, made a prediction to listeners of his radio show.

“Now we’re on, as they say, the point of attack — the point of attack tomorrow,” Mr. Bannon said on Jan. 5 as he promoted a plan hatched by Mr. Trump and far-right Republican lawmakers to try to overturn President Biden’s victory the next day, when Congress would meet to formalize the election results. “It’s going to kick off. It’s going to be very dramatic.”

It is because of comments like that, which foreshadowed the violence that played out during the Capitol riot, that the House committee investigating the assault is interested in questioning Mr. Bannon. But the former counselor to Mr. Trump has refused to cooperate with the inquiry, citing the former president’s claim of executive privilege.

The panel on Tuesday voted unanimously to recommend charging Mr. Bannon with criminal contempt of Congress for defying its subpoena, sending the matter to the House, which is expected to approve the move and hand the matter over to the Justice Department for prosecution.

Interferenza

Antalgica Poetica

l’amara certezza del grave svantaggio
di sconfinar dal territorio della dolcezza
o l’orrore della solitudine
che si vince solo perseguendola
(vedrai quanti benevoli volontari
s’affanneranno per impedirtela!!)

inquieto come sempre scivolo

China revokes grazing permits for Tibetan nomads in Qinghai province — Radio Free Asia (Me: Tibetans get same oppressive treatment by Chinese that West gave to indigenous people everywhere for centuries)

“The nomadic regions in Trindu [in Chinese, Chenduo] county in Kyegudo are where they are revoking usage permits now and confiscating the land under the Grassland Preservation Policy. The real purpose of confiscating the land is to force the Tibetan nomads to relocate to the city,” said the source, who requested anonymity to speak freely.

The government previously revoked permits in other areas of Qinghai on the same premise, according to the source.

RFA reported in August that a Tibetan community leader and his nephew were arrested Qinghai’s Tridu county after advising local Tibetans not to sign away their rights.

The Chinese government has been confiscating many Tibetan grazing lands in this way in recent years, a Tibetan living in exile told RFA on condition of anonymity.

“The confiscation of land in my hometown in Tibet by the Chinese authorities is worse this year than it was last year,” the exile said.

“Land permits that were given before are now revoked and has become invalid. Therefore, this is affecting the livelihoods of the Tibetan nomads,” said the exile.

China wants to extract resources from Tibet and wants the Tibetans out of the way, Pema Gyal, a researcher at Tibet Watch, a UK and India-based organization which promotes the Tibetan human rights.

LANDBACK Friends

I awoke wondering how to bring more attention to the horrors of the institutions of forced assimilation in the lands called the United States and Canada. The atrocities hidden for many years are finally beginning to be exposed as the remains of THOUSANDS of children are being located on the grounds of those institutions.

Even as this history is beginning to show up on social media and websites there is continued silence from mainstream media. Although there is news about a story Anderson Cooper is working on for 60 Minutes (below).

Where is the outrage? As it is sometimes framed, there would be a radically different response if the remains were of white children. Instead, the ongoing silence is the continued erasure of Indigenous peoples.

What really happened and what is still happening today are not what are published in the mainstream media. If you desire truth, you will have…
