Medical Council has ‘zero tolerance’ for anti-vax messages from doctors as it receives 23 complaints | RNZ News
When asked if that time frame was too long, Walker said “what I will say is that at all stages the public protected. So if we see that there’s harm being done by a doctor’s conduct or practice or misinformation, in these cases we will institute measures such as requesting or requiring the doctor to cease doing what it is that they’re doing and that can include suspending a doctor while the investigations take place so that the public is protected as we work our way through the cases”. It’s electrifying! IDB and Jamaica’s plan for electric vehicles
I must admit – I felt a twinge of envy on hearing last year that Barbados had acquired 33 electric buses. Why can’t Jamaica move forward on this, I wondered? Globally, the electric vehicle market is surging ahead, especially in China, the United States and Europe. President Biden is pushing for 50 percent electric vehicles by 2030 although the US share of the market has been smaller, so far. For Jamaica, as we seek to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and improve our poor air quality, this is really good news from the IDB, and I look forward to us moving in a positive direction with this boost – and with alacrity. Here’s the IDB’s press release.
IDB and Jamaica launch plan to electrify vehicles
October 7, 2021 KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Government of Jamaica will partner to accelerate the use of electric vehicles…

Myanmar Junta Forces Shoot and Kill Opposition Official in Front of His Family — Radio Free Asia (Me: Goons out of control and should be out of power)

something altogether unbelievable

the iridescent
lamp
casts a shadow
over the carnage
seen, within the myriad
of moments
taken away from me
as
life
is illuminated
too slowly,
casting a net
over the protruding
masses
of fibers and tissues
fallen from the sky
with so many bloody issues
and, then
failure
becomes imminent,
quickly outpacing
the need,
showing up
again and again,
making my heart grimace
as pain radiates
through the entirety
of my beingness
while
broken filaments
of being,
find the little
light left available,
and radiate love
towards
each other
with every bit
of their particles
left unassailable
and,
all at once
love coalesces
every
bit of brokenness, and
the entirety
of my being
becomes something
altogether
unbelievable

Wet’suwet’en update 10.6.2021
#AllOutForWedzinKwa
Coastal Gaslink is preparing to drill under the Wedzin Kwa to construct their 670km fracked gas pipeline. We know this would be disastrous, not only for Wet’suwet’en people, but for all living beings supported by the Wedzin Kwa, and for the communities living downstream. Wedzin Kwa is a spawning ground for salmon and a critical source of pristine drinking water on the territory.
Wet’suwet’en members, including Freda Huson of Unist’ot’en, have been tirelessly working to maintain their access and jurisdiction to their territories for the last decade. The fight to save this river has been long and nuanced, with many wins and losses over the years. Many pipeline companies have sought to drill under these waters, and have used many colonial tactics of intimidation and violence against Wet’suwet’en people and supporters to wear us down. Yet the river still runs clean, and Wet’suwet’en still remain strong. This fight is…
