It’s decolonization or extinction. And that starts with land back. — LANDBACK Friends

Barbara Crane Navarro

I’ve often written about my inability to convince people why we need to reject the systems of capitalism and endless economic growth. Emblematic of that is nearly fifty years I’ve lived without a car, hoping others might give up theirs, too. I’ve prayed and written so much about protecting Mother Earth for years, with little[…]

– Thomas More,” Utopia “, livro II – 1516

Defending Wedzin Kwa

LANDBACK Friends

Over the past several days there has been escalating conflict between the Wet’suwet’en peoples and the Coastal Gaslink pipeline company, which is supported by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Coastal GasLink is trying to drill under the sacred headwaters, Wedzin Kwa.

The last tweet below talks about the most recent attempts of armed invasion of Wet’suwet’en lands by the RCMP that began in 2019.

This is a glaring example of the fossil fuel industry forcing its way against the will of the people, of Indigenous peoples, enforced by the government (of Canada in this case). Go to https://www.yintahaccess.com/ for ways you can help.

This is especially dispiriting as the first National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, September 30, approaches.

On the morning of September 26th, theaccess road to Coastal GasLink’s drill site was destroyed. A series of blockades were put into place and the site was…

with a love, so freeing

Develop. Inspire. Transform.

moments
come and go,
it’s these
we’ve been bestowed

upon a sea

of tranquility,
at times, yes,
past our ability
to understand completely

and, yet,
when quiet, and

seeking
understanding,
we can learn more
from the seas ability

to transcend
our individuality,
into a one commonality

uniting us,
like the flowers,
trees, and the streams,

we dream

of this togetherness,
within our hearts
held tight, as the light
goes out from this planets beings

and, for you and me,
we then see…

possibilities expand
as we let go of our
preconceived notions
of what we think
love should be,
and stay open
to new realities of being,
with a love, so freeing…

Day 7 of GED in 5 months, Adulting, SD Promise, and the Zapotecs

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

Adulting is taking responsibility for ourselves and for our society, where we live in a Republic that both allows us much freedom and thus, requires of us much responsibility.  Part of that responsibility is helping others in society learn and help others.  The Four Freedoms movement advocates one possible program, starting with free schooling and more funding for programs like the San Diego Promise program, to which graduates of Continuing Education and Adult High School Equivalency programs can aspire.

Let’s help each other!

Racconti d’Italia: Carlo Vichi e la sua Mivar

Lattughino
