China Axes Hundreds of Joint Courses With Foreign Universities — Radio Free Asia (Me: Clear that CCP is afraid of losing control/profits and is isolating itself in ways that will ultimately lead, perhaps, to hyper-aggressive nationalism and inevitable decline)

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is axing hundreds of Sino-foreign university cooperation arrangements, including around 60 joint programs with universities in the United Kingdom.

The ministry listed 286 projects it said were being wound down as part of a routine review process.

The canceled courses included a bachelor’s degree in mechanical design and automation run by Harbin University of Science and Technology and London’s City University, as well as a social work courses run by East China Normal University and New York University.

Other axed programs included courses jointly run with the University of Florida, the University of Southern Queensland and the University of Leeds. Source: China Axes Hundreds of Joint Courses With Foreign Universities — Radio Free Asia

Vivaldi translation:
May this not be your last option
I am perplexed by a “compromising” situation – which is violence against women. Domestic violence (intra-wall violence), which in my opinion, is brutality, the consequences of which are something that destroys the victim’s psychological, and I do not speak of physical sequelae, but sometimes that which is not even family, the best psychologist, psychoanalyst, medicine. In short, everything that this woman can look for to try to dilute the consequences of this violence in her life, that is, to try to revert “part” of what she felt and feels in the face of the horror she lived […] . Before you have the courage to expose yourself You, analyze with me! You understand what I’m saying? And there are women telling those who get beaten up “to keep quiet”. I asked: how??? What century do you live in? Women don’t have to keep quiet, no.
Woman has to talk!..
For centuries, silence has been precious to men. Today, no more. Try to analyze the statistics, see the number of women’s deaths that happen each year. Feminicide is the result of what many have been silent, others who have emerged from violent relationships, have died, it is true. But, they denounced their aggressors.
He suffered violence? Speak.

Marii Freire Pereira.

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Torn To Pieces

Filosofa's Word

This country, the United States, is being torn into pieces.  I have never actually despised as many people as I do today, and I know that I am not alone.  We cannot seem to agree on anything, not even the safety of the nation’s children.  We cannot agree on whether or not to be vaccinated against a deadly disease, or whether to wear a mask for protection against that deadly disease.  We cannot agree on whether money should be spent to repair our crumbling physical infrastructure, and we certainly cannot agree that in this, the time of a massive, wide-spread pandemic, people should be helped.

I laugh when I think of the name of this country:  The UNITED States.  There is no unity left today … and why?  Political posturing.  There are two distinct sides with little in the middle and that’s just how the politicians want it.  It’s a…

US COVID-19 cases back to pre-vaccination levels | CIDRAP

For the first time since February, the United States reported more than 900,000 COVID-19 cases last week—with the country represented 20% of global cases—a sign the pandemic surge caused by the Delta (B1617.2) variant has stalled the progress made by an aggressive vaccine rollout that dampened cases this spring and summer.

Cases are on the rise in 46 states, according to USA Today. Hot spots continue in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Oregon, Hawaii, and Mississippi. Oregon reported 11,564 cases in the week ending Friday, the paper said, topping its December pandemic peak by more than 7.2%.

The United States reported 38,482 new COVID-19 cases yesterday and 382 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 tracker. The 7-day average of new daily cases is 130,218, according to the Washington Post tracker. New cases have risen 16.8% in the past week, while deaths have climbed by 23.6% and hospitalizations by 14.9%.
