My old home county is having tough time because too many under 40s have not been vaccinated and are spreading Delta like wildfire.

No, live in Cincinnati now but most who I grew up with are still in LA County.

Being paid to get vaccinated? I have never heard of a medical emergency incentive like this.

Works with some – others have given time off to get shots. You are right though, I don’t think people have been paid/bribed to get vaccinations in the past.
