B.C. First Nation organizes 3-day healing walk in wake of Kamloops residential school discovery | CBC News

Hundreds of people have embarked on a trek along the South Thompson River from Kamloops to B.C.’s Shuswap, with the goal of reclaiming the spirits lost to the city’s former residential school.

On Friday morning, participants gathered at Pioneer Park in downtown Kamloops for the opening ceremony to kickstart Walking Our Spirits Home — a three-day walk organized by the Adams Lake Indian Band to hike the 64 kilometres to Chase, B.C.

Following the ceremony, Band Kukpi7 (Chief) Cliff Arnouse, other First Nation leaders and scores of walkers crossed the Red Bridge from the park to the other side of the river, then walked about four kilometres to the site of the former residential school, where, two weeks ago, preliminary findings from ground penetrating radar uncovered the remains of up to 215 children.

Conclusions and Relevance  This study found that, similar to the general population, increased age and preexisting health conditions were associated with COVID-19 outcomes for people with IDD receiving residential support services in New York City. As with older adults living in nursing homes, number of residents was also associated with more severe COVID-19 outcomes. Unique to people with IDD was an increased risk of COVID-19 diagnosis for people with Down syndrome.

Krippe in Old Goa, Indien

Vivaldi translation of introduction: Nativity scene in Old Goa, India
When we visited the architectural ensembles of Velha Goa churches and monasteries in India in 2019, we knew, that the remarkable former Jesuit church Basílica do Bom Jesús is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, but we were not aware of it, that the monastery, that is attached to the church, has a remarkable courtyard with a special crib.

Chinese researchers find batch of new coronaviruses in bats – CNN

Chinese researchers said Thursday they had found a batch of new coronaviruses in bats including one that may be the second-closest yet, genetically, to the Covid-19 virus.

According to the researchers, their discoveries in a single, small region of Yunnan province, southwestern China show just how many coronaviruses there are in bats and how many have the potential to spread to people.
Weifeng Shi of the University of Shandong and colleagues collected samples from small, forest-dwelling bats between May, 2019 and November, 2020. They tested urine and feces as well as taking swabs from the bats’ mouths.
Uncovering the origins of the virus that sparked a pandemic

“In total, we assembled 24 novel coronavirus genomes from different bat species, including four SARS-CoV-2 like coronaviruses,” the researchers wrote in a report published in the journal Cell.

I don’t want to be your meal 😔

THE INTROVERT EMPATH🙏

Choose compassion over cruelty ❣

While i was on a stroll at the plant graden , i found a hen roaming freely without any fear . Otherwise what I usually observe is animals living in a crap where they are locked up . Isn’t it the most inhuman act of our’s where basic freedom of species are taken away. Just because they are voiceless creatures , we have started considering ourselves so superior that we disregarded the fact of pain and suffering when it comes to animals . Let us weave together and leave animals off our plate 🙏.

There Were Years

Shayan's Sphere

There were years like feathers of rose
Once upon a time and many moons ago,
Having no agonies but people so close
Did show their affections but not woe.

Lands were paradise, charming were words,
And thoughts were flowers of blossoming spring,
Yes, life was of happiness just like a bird,
Having all sweet times not just wings.

Tears were all genuine but not of pains,
Dreams were all colossal but did go,
Yes, life was so placid, soothing as rain,
Having all sweet times but not woe.

Life was of wonders, smooth was flow,
Love was so unknown, fresh like a leaf,
Oh, years were all white boards, pure as snow,
Having all sweet days but not grief.

Oh, time is ferrous, memories are gold,
Living in ferrous yet they never lose shine,
Oh, memories of years passed crystal do they hold
Tears and happiness lines after lines.
