Californians support venues requiring COVID vaccine proof – Los Angeles Times

As California’s businesses reopen, a majority of state residents are in support of allowing entertainment venues require proof that their patrons are vaccinated or have tested negative for COVID-19, and for some employers to require vaccinations of workers, according to a statewide poll conducted by UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies that was funded in part by The Times. The survey of registered voters provides a snapshot of residents’ attitudes on COVID vaccination verification issues about a month after officials announced reopening rules for indoor live events that allowed some businesses to demand vaccine “passports.”

Too Funny

CRAIN'S COMMENTS

In a dark, evil sort of way.

Business insurers have been criticized for making payments for ransomware attacks. Ransomware as you probably know, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock someplace and don’t buy gasoline, is a malware attack in which the bad guys seize sensitive, confidential data, and then encrypt computers so they become useless. They then ask for money in return for providing the encryption key, and they also threaten to make the sensitive data public if the money isn’t paid.

In theory, paying off the attackers encourages them. However, without adequate backup technology, recovering from the attack without paying can be even more expensive.

Businesses have been relying on their insurers to make these payments. In turn, the businesses see increases in their insurance costs at renewal.

AXA is one of the most recent international insurers to announce that it would stop paying ransoms for its clients.

Mom, Dad, get back here!

Roadtirement

We noticed a behavior in starlings that we had not seen before. Adult starlings were moving through the yard, doing their normal grazing thing.

Some adult feathers are beginning to show on the backs of these two starling juveniles

What was different was the sight of juvenile starlings, one or two per adult, staying amazingly close. Every time the adult moved, the juvenile stayed right with the adult. We watched as the adult would grab a worm or grub an give it to the youngster. When the adult flew away the youngster would squawk and carry on very loudly. This parent/young interaction went on for minutes at a time.

Biden prays for safety of Tlaib’s family in Michigan speech | TheHill

Biden made the comments at the beginning of a speech about electric vehicles at a Ford plant in Dearborn, Mich., after Tlaib publicly criticized his administration’s handling of the violence between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. “I admire your intellect, I admire your passion, and I admire your concern for so many other people,” Biden said, naming Tlaib. “It’s from my heart. I pray that your grandmom and family are well. I promise you I am going to do everything to see that they are safe on the West Bank. You’re a fighter, and God thank you for being a fighter.” Earlier Tuesday, Biden spent several minutes speaking with Tlaib on the tarmac upon his arrival in Detroit. Biden was also greeted by Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell (D).

Fuzzy

Inhale Peace; Exhale Love. Joy will Follow! - RUELHA

When you think of Fuzzy
Think of him as a pot of honey.

Enveloping you with moist kisses.
Who filled your lives with sweetness.

A member of your family.
To whom love came naturally.

Be at peace with these thoughts.
That he still loves you lots.

He's just moved a little away.
Because God called him today.

Those years that you spent with him.
With joy and love, a synonym.

He's so happy that you were the one there.
In those last moments to hold and care.

So honour Fuzzy by being happy.
Because that's how he'd like to see.

Each and every one of you.
This is what you, his family should do.

Smile and think of him fondly.
He'd want you to handle this strongly.
