Ordnance P-38 Lightning

Pacific Paratrooper

P-38 in the Pacific

Perhaps Colonel Ben Kelsey, a P-38 test pilot, summed up the war bird’s legacy best of all. “(That) comfortable old cluck,” he said, “would fly like hell, fight like a wasp upstairs, and land like a butterfly.”

The P-38 was the most successful USAAF fighter in the Pacific War. It served with four separate air forces, spread out from Australia to Alaska. The most successful American Ace of the Second World War, Major Richard Bong, scored all 40 of his victories flying the P-38 Lightning over the Pacific.

P-38

The 11th Air Force was allocated the task of defending the Aleutian Islands, in the far north of the Pacific. There the extra reliability provided by the twin engines of the P-38 was essential, with missions being flown over long distances and in poor weather. The first P-38 victories of the war fell to pilots of the…

What Kind of Civics Education Should Americans Get?

Filosofa's Word

Americans are woefully under-educated when it comes to how our own government works. And this makes it really easy to manipulate citizens.  I was appalled to read that only 1 in 4 people can name the three branches of government:  Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.  A few days ago I read that somebody said the House and Senate were two separate branches.  What are we teaching our children???  Or rather, what are we not teaching them?

Today’s big argument from the right is about whether or not our children should learn the true history of the United States, warts and all.  Some on the right think our schools should teach a whitewashed version of such things as slavery, Japanese internment camps, Jim Crow, etc., but I would argue that to ignore the darker part of our history is to paint a false picture and to doom us to repeat those mistakes.

Foreigner

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

I gotta take a little time

A little time to think things over

I better read between the lines

In case I need it when I’m older

Oooh, woah – ooh

Now, this mountain I must climb

Feels like the world upon my shoulders

Through the clouds, I see love shine

It keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life

There’s been heartache and pain

I don’t know

If I can face it again

Can’t stop now

I’ve travelled so far

To change this lonely life

I wanna know what love is

I want you to show me

I wanna feel what love is

I know you can show me

Oooh, woah-ooh…”

Foreigner. I Want To Knowles What Love Is.

Vacation series: episode # 9: Chilli garlic spaghetti 🍝

LITTLE CHEF’S APRON

Welcome to Little Chef’s Apron! Today we will be making something savoury! I tried this recipe as an experiment and I never expected it to be this tasty!

It was so delicious and it required the most basic flavouring agents. I am pretty sure you figured out what those are by the title, chilli and garlic!

I thought if I could use normal noodles instead of spaghetti but I understood why spaghetti was best. It is slightly yellow in colour, it is thicker and has the authentic pasta taste.

Whereas normal noodles lack all that and which is why their taste fits in Chinese cuisine.

If you want , you can use them too and make your own version. Let us get started with the recipe:

Ingredients required:

1 packet spaghetti( I am using the brand, ‘happy chef’ )

1 tsp soy sauce ( optional)

4 tbsp butter

8-9 cloves…

There’s Nothing I Can’t Today

Shayan's Sphere

It’s true my days are dreary nights
And the ways are full of thorns,
I have to go through silent fights
In each silvery morn.

I have to deal unnoticed tears
And sheer hatred and taunts,
And weird feelings of baffling Sphere
Don’t go the way I want.

And vague mirages of eerie past
Like wraiths so foul and vile,
Ruin my flowers with grimy dusts,
And haunt my pleasant whiles.

But still amidst this savage game,
Though high my burning pain;
This life shall never lose its flame,
And nay, it shan’t complain.

For hurdles dwell in every sight,
O nothing is eternal fine,
And thousands even are spending nights
With aches sharper than mine.

And what’s the use of weeping
When the sun has set in west?
While squillion stars are waiting
To brighten again the breast?

So, though this life is fleeting
And yesterday was gray,
Here’s…

Found Ya Blog | Bloggers Interview | Mental Health is health

A Writer's Deli

For today’s interview, we’ve got a topic which is of extreme significance. I, particularly am a huge advocate of mental well-being and eradication of the stigma surrounding it. To throw some light on the topic, we’ve with us a blogger whose life experience, optimism and practical ways to combat mental illness will be enlightening for the readers. The link to the blog is attached at the end for your reference. Happy Reading.

1.Thank you for this interview. What is your blog about and why the name Mental health is health?

My blog is about my journey through bipolar illness that started when I was in college and continues to this day, sometimes well managed and sometimes somewhat well managed. I feel that stigma is a major issue in the field of Mental Health – perhaps adding up to half of the battle for many people who are…

Rainy day!

Bio-Blogger

On a Rainy day

When clouds are dark

My thoughts in the park

Deeply into nature’s look

I feel you from my back

Warmth of your breath flake

Making me to feel like a snow flake

Our thoughts are flowing like a lake

When we had no choice to make

Our eyes got pleased to set back

With no words to wishper or speak

It’s raining

We both are rinsing

Our thoughts are syncing

Our hearts are feeling

Our souls are romancing

My body & voice are trembling

Your wishperings are pleasing

When our breaths are slow striking

Moon must be out there peeping

Stars must be there twinkling

The pleasure of heavenly feeling

Tears in my eyes are streaming

My heart started questioning

Why was I only be dreaming?

How can I stop my heart from fainting?

You & Me will ever be really meeting?

The answer? God must…
