(Me: Anxious to open face-to-face school?) LCPS: 300 students district-wide quarantining following positive COVID-19 tests

Las Cruces Public Schools officials reported Monday that seven in-person students and one staff member tested positive for COVID-19 in the first week of in-person learning, affecting hundreds of students district-wide.

Classes affected by the positive cases were switched to remote learning while students quarantine. The district reports approximately 300 students — or about 2 percent of students who chose to return to in-person learning — are isolating this week.

The schools affected include Alameda Elementary, Cesar Chavez Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Sonoma Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, Valley View Elementary, Mayfield High School and Oñate High School.
