SHIVAwareness
On the path to try knowing Shiva,i realise one thing which I would like to share here. Till date we as a society are fighting gender bias in an unbelievable manner. The matter is softly seeped into our daily lives and we have clearly visible demarcation between a man and a woman. Their place and roles look very structured and defined. The moment any woman try to blur that demarcation there is a strong opposition from both ends. Men suppressing Women’s rights and women too facilitating the suppression by calling it the way of life. Patriarchy is deep deep deep rooted. However, our divine Gods don’t endorse it at all….. Ardhanaarishwar is Gods way to tell us that both a man and a woman are although different dimensions but they complement each other and that’s what forms a complete life. Shiva is not a God – Shiva is body and…

U.N. Security Council agrees on statement condemning Myanmar violence
The U.N. Security Council on Wednesday agreed on a chair’s statement condemning the Myanmar military’s use of force in cracking down on protesters against a coup last month, a diplomatic source said.
While the statement strongly condemns violence against peaceful protesters including women and children, it also calls for restraint by the Myanmar military,

Myanmar Anti-Junta Activists Mount Boycott of Chinese Goods as Protesters Face More Repression — Radio Free Asia
As protests and violent suppression by troops grind on in Myanmar, coup opponents are stepping up a campaign to make China rethink its support for the military junta, including a boycott of imports from their giant neighbor and threats against a major Chinese energy pipeline and port.
China, along with Russia, are seen as the main stumbling blocks to a meaningful response to the Myanmar crisis at the U.N. Security Council, which last month voiced concern over the state of emergency and called for the release of all those detained, but stopped short of condemning the coup.
Threats to attack the dual oil and gas pipelines, which run from southwest China’s Yunnan province to a $1.3 billion deep-sea port at Kyaukpyu in southern Rakhine state along the coast of the Bay of Bengal, have emerged on social media.

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

A friend who’s not all that interested in politics asked me the other day why, if President Biden ran on bipartisanship, everything he’s proposing is now being rejected by the Republicans. I responded that the American Rescue Plan, which will soon pass the Senate and be signed into law, has nationwide bipartisan support: 75% of the public support it, including 60% of Republicans. But the Republicans in both chambers have not been willing to legislate for some time.
Thomas L. Friedman, a New York Times opinion columnist who I find generally hews toward the middle politically, minced no words in a recent essay titled: ”What Trump, San Francisco and the Deer in My Backyard Have in Common.” The subtitle was “Democracy depends on understanding the connection.” (emphases mine throughout)
The Asian Century – GERMAN-FOREIGN-POLICY.com
Already five DAX companies, such as VW, Daimler, Infineon, are generating their largest share of sales in China, more than on their German domestic market. To protect themselves against the risks of US economic warfare, German companies doing business with China are increasingly relocating their activities to the People’s Republic. Efforts to encourage their withdrawal from China have failed. Source: The Asian Century – GERMAN-FOREIGN-POLICY.com
