Border Patrol agents are ‘working to sabotage the Biden administration’, according to insiders | The Independent

Budd recounted a time when she approached a border station in 2019 and spoke to agents who were aware that she had been part of the agency but were not aware of her current immigration activism: “I asked them why it was taking them so long to process — it didn’t take that long [even] when I had to hand-write everything back in the day — and they would say, ‘We’re trying to teach them a lesson’. So they were intentionally keeping people in there for over two weeks at a time in these conditions to punish them. That is the only reason why they were doing that.”

Budd continued on to say that the same people who responsible for harsh treatment of migrants during the Trump era are still in charge: “They do this on purpose. And none of that has changed in the management has not changed at all. But the same people who separated families and created the last crisis are doing it again.”

Puerto Rico enacted strict Covid measures. It paid off… — Repeating Islands

[Many thanks to Nalini Natarajan for bringing this item to our attention.] In “Puerto Rico enacted strict Covid measures. It paid off, and it’s a lesson for the mainland,” Nicole Acevedo (NBC News) writes, “Puerto Rico used curfews and rigorous sanitary measures, ‘and the pandemic was never politicized,’ a health expert said. It saved lives — […]

Koliko sklekova toliko zdravlja! – How many push-ups so much health!

The number of push-ups a man can do really determines his health, especially when it comes to blood vessels and the heart. Research has shown that middle-aged men, who cannot do ten push-ups, are far more at risk of heart attack and heart disease. People who can do more than 40 push-ups reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 97% in the next ten years of life. However, the ability to do between 21 and 30 push-ups means that men are at a quarter of the risk of developing diseases, such as coronary artery disease or slowing of the heart rhythm.

Myrela

1926 – Launching of the first liquid-fueled rocket

Robert Hutchings Goddard (October 5, 1882 – August 10, 1945) was an American engineer, professor, physicist, and inventor who is credited with creating and building the world’s first liquid-fueled rocket.

Goddard successfully launched his rocket on March 16, 1926, ushering in an era of space flight and innovation.

He and his team launched 34 rockets between 1926 and 1941, achieving altitudes as high as 2.6 km (1.6 mi) and speeds as fast as 885 km/h (550 mph).

Goddard’s work as both theorist and engineer anticipated many of the developments that were to make spaceflight possible.

Two of Goddard’s 214 patented inventions—a multi-stage rocket (1914), and a liquid-fuel rocket (1914)—were important milestones toward spaceflight.

Vaccine Talks: Getting My Father Vaccinated Before He Gets COVID-19 Again

He ended up getting pneumonia in both lungs. After staying in the hospital for four days, he returned home with an oxygen tank that he now has to carry everywhere.

Thankfully my mother now has an appointment with Kaiser Permanente for March 11 to get her first dose of the vaccine.

But my father still has to wait to get his because he is on medication and using that oxygen tank 24 hours a day. We are not sure when he will stop using the tank, and we are not sure when he will be able to receive his first dose of the vaccine. I hope he is able to receive his first dose soon so he does not get the virus again, because we don’t know if his body is strong enough for a second infection.
