That Day!!!!

Soni's thoughts

She woke up suddenly and felt a deep mix feeling of all sorts of emotions.
Her heart was filled with desolation as well as a pinch of excitement too!!
She saw all airbags, suitcases, luggagges around her bed and a drop of tear rolled down her eyes!!
She got lost into deep rumination for a bit, but was heckled by a voice from behind “Daughter, get up and get ready fast! We are running out of time, need to catch train’
By hearing those words another few tear drops poured out…
She felt like ceasing the moment and not to let it progress atall!!
But then she snubbed the thoughts and prepared herself to be ready to catch the train with her parents!!
As the speed of train was rocketing, her heart beat was at full tilt!!

Both Sides Don’t, Politico

It’s not Washington that must act, it is the Republicans who must act, and more specifically it is amply be-chinned Mitch McConnell who must act. Don’t try to Both Sides this on-coming humanitarian and financial crisis during a pandemic.

McConnell has been sitting on multiple relief bills for close to 9 months and doing nothing. We could have the Trump-Virus relief bill behinds us right now, this very moment if Mitch McConnell gave on good goddamn, but he doesn’t.

Depends upon how the media frame it

My spidey senses went into the Danger Zone reading this blurb from the Politico afternoon email thingie:

A COUNTRY FALLING APART … WILL WASHINGTON ACT? … “Millions of Americans are heading into the holidays unemployed and over $5,000 behind on rent,”by WaPo’s Heather Long: “Nearly 12 million renters will owe an average of $5,850 in back rent and utilities by January, Moody’s Analytics warns. Last month 9 million renters said they were behind on rent … The numbers were especially high for families with children, with 21 percent falling behind on rent, and among families of color.”

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day — By Hook Or By Book

President Roosevelt was right to call it a date that will live in infamy.’ But for my fellow survivors and me, it is also alive in memory, like shrapnel left embedded in our brains because  the surgeon thought it too dangerous to operate. These memories lie within me, forever still and silent, like the men […]

Ruhle added that “as a person who is sick and scared, I am telling you: Please take this seriously. It is not over.”

Alarming COVID-19 surge prompts shutdown of L.A. schools – Los Angeles Times

Los Angeles campuses will shut down completely beginning Thursday for all in-person tutoring and special services, as prospects for fully reopening the nation’s second-largest school district recede further into 2021 amid a dangerous coronavirus surge, Supt. Austin Beutner announced Monday.

The move immediately affects some 4,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade and outdoor conditioning for athletes. Beutner’s emergency order comes on the first day of a sweeping stay-at-home order across much of California and as Los Angeles County’s coronavirus rates reach unprecedented numbers.
