Pećka patrijaršija

History of the monastery of Pec Patriarchate

Myrela

Homecoming…

I build. I break. I love. I berate.

When birds build a home, they travel far… far away to distant lands. They fly to the highest branch of their favorite tree, only to find a void left unhealed, just for them.

How do you know if you weren’t shying away from healing that one last wound in your heart in the wait for your person to come back home and caress it?

Someone once called love the greatest healer of all times. Years later, poets began writing verses about how love broke them. So, is love a beautiful irony that breaks you and heals you in the same moment, or do we admire our scars so much that breaking away from them is the kind of bereavement we can’t take?

Four walls, two windows, and a heart. That is all it takes to build…

Just One Cookie #Christmas #Joy

penned in moon dust

He really wasn’t a Scrooge he just didn’t like giving gifts.

He wasn’t a mean guy he just didn’t like people.

Then there came a day when a little boy maybe 2 or 3 rushed up to this man who had seen the underside of war and needed a bottle to sober him.

“Mister, mister please come look at the tree with me. I love lights.” Before the man could object the little boy grabbed the man and pulled him down the hallway toward the Christmas tree.

Many of the vets who lived at the hospital were sharing eggnog and cookies.

“I love Christmas cookies.” The little’s boy’s eyes lit up.

“Well let us have some then my friend.” The man’s face was less pinched.

I watched as my little boy sat on the lap of this man. He couldnt stop talkign and the man didnt seem to mind the…

Making Almond Milk Kefir for the First Time

Foundation Operation X for Languages, Cultures and Perspectives

Written by Dyami Millarson

It is many years ago now that we had water kefir and milk kefir at home in Leeuwarden. There was a discount on kefir starter in my local ecological supermarket a little while ago, so I decided to give it a try. Yesterday was the first time I made almond milk kefir. In fact, it was probably the first time that I ever made kefir on my own. I was already quite familiar with the process because I had observed countless times how my father made new batches of kefir.

I used a 2 euro coin in all of the pictures to show the scale. There were 3 sachets of kefir starter in the box. I used one of the sachets on Sunday 13 December 2020.

There was a two-sided instruction manual in Dutch which I read. It said it is possible to use almond milk…

Boris Johnson has a habit of delaying tough choices. In a pandemic, it’s lethal | Boris Johnson | The Guardian

He promised Britain respite after months of soul-numbing social quarantine. It was his seasonal gift to the nation and he hates the idea of taking it back. He also hates taking responsibility for his actions. Typically, the prime minister’s preferred outcome involves two incompatible things: a simulation of normal Christmas and a health service that is not overwhelmed in January and February, which are its busiest months even in non-pandemic years. The government’s message is characteristically confused – here is a special dispensation to do something you are strongly advised not to do.
