The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 in the US has doubled in the past month, and set new records every day this week.

As of Tuesday, nearly 77,000 people were hospitalised with the virus.

Newly confirmed infections per day in the US have exploded by more than 80 per cent in the past two weeks to the highest levels on record, with the daily count running at close to an average of 160,000.

    This is the most humiliating embarrassing, even since Hurricane Katrina, moment that I have ever had as an American, to have to watch presidential incompetence allow the deaths of so many people, mostly poor people!
