Palestinians : Bahrain-Israel normalization deal is a betrayal of Jerusalem

Ramallah/PNN/

The Palestinian leadership strongly rejects and condemns the American-Bahraini-Israeli tripartite declaration on the normalization of relations between the occupying state of Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and considers it a betrayal of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa, and the Palestinian cause.

According to Wafa Offical news agency, This step is a token of support for legitimizing the ugly crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, at a time when the occupying state is consolidating its takeover and annexation of the Palestinian land by military force. It also comes at a time when the occupying state is working hard to Judaize the city of Jerusalem, takes over Islamic and Christian holy sites, and commits crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian leadership views this step as extremely dangerous, as it blows up the Arab Peace Initiative, the resolutions of the Arab and Islamic summits, and international legitimacy.

The Palestinian leadership rejects this step taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain and calls on it to immediately take it back, as such a step will gravely harm the inalienable national rights of the Palestinian people and joint Arab action.

The Palestinian leadership renews its call on the brotherly Arab countries to adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative as agreed in 2002 and calls on the international community to adhere to international law and the resolutions of the international legitimacy.

The Palestinian leadership affirms once again that it has not and will not commission anyone to speak in its name, and affirms that peace and stability in the region will only come true by ending the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian and Arab lands, by having the Palestinian people gain their independence in their sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and by resolving the refugee issue on the basis of UN Resolution 194. Whoever believes that these concessions which come at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people will serve peace, security, and stability in the region are necessarily deceived.

Russia published the results of its COVID-19 vaccine — and they don’t live up to the hype

The levels of neutralizing antibodies were quite low in this study, compared with other published vaccine trials. So too were the T cell responses (the other arm of the immune system’s adaptive response).

One interpretation of this is that these vaccines do not induce good neutralizing protection. Alternatively, the methods used to measure these immune responses may not have been optimal. In the absence of international reference standards, we can’t tell if this vaccine is better or worse compared with others.

Inoreader – A Key Eyewitness in the Portland Shooter’s Killing Says His Account Was Misconstrued

This week a new eyewitness, Nate Dinguss, emerged, telling the Washington Post and the Oregonian that Reinoehl didn’t appear to be carrying a weapon at all at the time of his arrest. Instead, he said, he was holding a cellphone and eating candy when he was shot and killed by police. Now one of the key eyewitnesses who reportedly said he saw Reinoehl brandishing an assault rifle says he was misquoted and didn’t see Reinoehl pull a weapon at all. His account corroborates what Dinguss told police. “No offense but myself and […] Cutler gave the same statement one time to everyone,” said Smith to VICE News in a wide-ranging Facebook conversation. “Then the next we read [in] the media [and] it’s not at all what was said.”

US hospitals turn down remdesivir, limit use to sickest COVID-19 patients – The Jerusalem Post

US hospitals have turned down about a third of their allocated supplies of the COVID-19 drug remdesivir since July as need for the costly antiviral wanes, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) confirmed on Friday.

Some hospitals said they are still buying the Gilead Sciences medicine to build inventory in case the pandemic accelerates over the winter. But they said current supplies are adequate, in part because they are limiting use to severely ill patients.
