The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to fund the US Postal Service, amid ongoing complaints by Democrats that the Trump administration is attempting to sabotage the delivery of mail-in ballots ahead of the presidential election in November.

Meadows appears in Capitol to talk to Pelosi amid stalled coronavirus negotiations | TheHill (for show, no go)

According to sources with knowledge, there was no meeting scheduled between Pelosi and Meadows planned for over the weekend.

“He showed up with no notice. Speaker was in a leadership meeting,” a senior Democratic aide said.

Germany reports its highest number of new COVID-19 cases since April.

German authorities reported 2,034 cases over the past 24 hours, the highest number since April. The total number of cases now have risen to 232,000 since the pandemic began. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported seven dead om Saturday putting the death toll to 9,267.

The cases continued to increase in Germany since July. The surge in cases is thought to be have been caused by the reopening of schools. Around 41 schools in Berlin reported students and teachers infected with virus, after only two weeks of reopening. Hundreds of students are in quarantine.

Mass gatherings will remain in place in the country till the end of October. The Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel said that she does not plan to relax restrictions due to the spike in cases.
