Where’s the Cheeto Kid?
It’s now been a week since Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, and much of the island is still without power, water and necessary supplies. Though the U.S. government has pledged to send aid, Puerto Ricans say they’re still waiting for it—outside of San Juan, the island’s main city, residents say they haven’t even been able to speak with local authorities, much less agents from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The island’s main airport is overheated and overpacked with Puerto Ricans trying to make it to the mainland; only 11 of 69 hospitals have power, and the Guajataca Dam is still hazardous, putting thousands of people at further risk.
